Susan Francis - Solution Architect

Susan Francis

Susan has experience in multiple industries from restaurant and retail management, customer service and sales, to artist and entrepreneur. As a young child, she began drawing animals, which led to a position as the first staff artist for the State of Ohio, Division of Wildlife. While there, she designed the first non-game Wildlife Collector’s Stamp. Proceeds from the sales of those stamps were used for habitat protection of song birds and other small animals.

As a free-lance artist, she has painted many commissioned animal portraits, as well as wildlife and landscapes, and her work has been featured in numerous national and regional art shows, including the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA, the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog in St. Louis, MO, and the Nature Art Festival in Jamestown, NY.

In 2013, she watched the documentary “Forks Over Knives,” and realized that there could be
better ways to help protect wildlife and the environment, besides painting them and hoping people would get the message. She also realized she had been unaware of the huge impact of factory farming on animals and the Earth. She decided to remove all animal products from her diet and become vegan. She received her Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from eCornell in 2016, to be able to help other people to transition to a plant-based diet and lifestyle. Her position as a Solution Architect with the Plant-Based Network aligns with her mission to help plant-based entrepreneurs grow their businesses, and help make the world a healthier place.
